Join us at Portland Children’s Museum for a FREE art gallery opening and celebration of our Artist in Residence, Gesine Kratzner. The opening will feature the work she created with Museum visitors over the course of her residency. Throughout Gesine's residency at the Museum, she engaged people of all ages through her playful, whimsical, and deeply expressive characters! Gesine allowed children to share stories and their boundless imagination, and then brought their imagined characters to life through three-dimensional sculptures.
Join us for light refreshments and snacks, and creative collaborative art-making as we show off the artwork made by Gesine and our visitors.
You don’t have to have children with you at this event. All ages are welcome!
We are grateful to Arlene Schnitzer, The Collins Foundation, Regional Arts & Culture Council, Work for Art, and Juliet Ashby Hillman Foundation for sponsoring the Museum Artist in Residence program.
