General Outline of the Day:

  • Time in Museum exhibits
  • Morning snack provided by Museum
  • Art material introduction and exploration
  • Lunch brought from home
  • Active time (may be inside or outside)
  • More exploration with art materials
  • Check-out
    • Single Day Camps and Summer After Care include an additional afternoon snack, extra time in Museum exhibits, and even more exploration with art materials.
       

Museum Spring Camp Policies

  • Cancellations, Exchanges, & Refunds
    • Cancellations made 14 days (2 weeks) or more prior to the first day of camp are subject to a 60% refund of the registration cost.
    • Camps are non-refundable within 13 days of the beginning of camp.
    • Requests to change camp sessions/dates (if available) are subject to a $40 administrative fee in addition to any other applicable camp fees.
    • If a minimum enrollment is not met, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a camp. If this happens, you will be notified at least 7 days in advance and full tuition will be refunded.
    • In cases of inclement weather or other unforeseen interruption to operations of the Museum, you will be notified as soon as any closure is confirmed. If this happens, partial refunds may be issued for missed day(s) of camp.
    • Campers absent from any day of camp will not be entitled to a partial refund, credit, or exchange of dates.
    • Campers dismissed due to discipline, behavior, or similar situations will not be entitled to a partial refund, credit, or exchange of dates.
  • Behavior:
    • Portland Children’s Museum Camps expect campers to show respect for themselves, fellow campers, staff, and the Museum. Due to safety concerns, disruptive behavior and physical or verbal aggression are not tolerated.
    • If a camper does not respond to positive management tools used by staff, they will be escorted away from the group and may be removed from the program.
    • In the event a camper needs to be removed from a program, we will notify the emergency contact immediately. For the safety of campers and staff, we will expect them to be picked up within one hour of a call home.
    • Campers dismissed due to discipline, behavior, or similar situations will not be entitled to a refund.
  • lllness:
    • If your camper is ill on the day of camp, we ask you to keep them home for both their own health and to maintain a healthy environment for other campers and staff.
    • In the event your child becomes ill at camp, we will notify the emergency contact immediately. For the health and wellness of your camper, we will expect them to be picked up within one hour of a call home.​
