Greeter, Store Keeper, and Birthday Party assistant:

Flexible Shifts!
Welcome and introduce families to the Children's Museum! Be the first character they meet before they run to the exhibits and the one who wishes them a great day as they leave. Provide customer service in the gift shop and help staff with important safety issues. Be the designated point of contact for Museum.
Birthday parties on weekends: make sure the party is running smoothly, guests have what they need, prepare their goody bags, run a birthday activity such as hat or making. Requirements: A friendly smile! Experience working with children. Outgoing, patient, resourceful, friendly and reliable. Customer Service experience a plus. Bilingual a plus. Ability to stand, bend, and get down to kid height. Flexible shifts to be arranged with Volunteer Coordinator. Open shifts: Saturday 11-1 or weekdays, to be arranged with coordinator.

Play Guide:

Flexible Shifts!
Make a difference in the creative play experience by exploring exhibits with visitors and exemplifying spontaneity and playfulness. Welcome and introduce visitor to the Museum and provide customer service. Share information about Museum programs and activities. Help staff maintain exhibit spaces and assist with safety issues.
Requirements: Experience working with children or desire to gain experience. A Play Guide is outgoing, patient, resourceful, friendly and reliable. Customer Service experiences a plus. Bilingual a plus. Playguides stand, bend, and get down to kid height. Shifts: Speak with Coordinator re open shifts. Also available at internship level for high school students! Internships are non-compensated. Time commitment is 12 hours a week for three months.

Studio Assistant:

Have an interest in the arts? Provide positive feedback and encouragement as children experiment creatively with a wide variety of art media. Support studio staff by prepping materials, helping with basic cleanup, and helping with safety issues. Studios include the Clay Studio, Wonder Corner (which changes activities every couple of months), and Garage Studio which features recycled materials and power tools. Requirements: Experience working with children or desire to gain experience. A Studio assistant is outgoing, patient, resourceful, friendly and reliable. Customer Service experience a plus. Bilingual a plus. Studio assistants stand, bend, and get down to kid height. Shifts: Speak with coordinator re open shifts. Also available at internship level for high school students! Internships are non-compensated. Time commitment is 12 hours a week for three months.

Glazing Workshop Assistant:

Share the excitement as children's clay art comes to life with vibrant color! Help children choose colors to decorate their creations and walk them through the glazing process. Be responsible for running the entire activity, reliability for this position is extremely important. Requirements: Experience working with children or desire to gain experience. A Glazing assistant is outgoing, patient, resourceful, friendly and reliable. Customer Service experience a plus. Bilingual a plus. Glazing assistants stand, bend, and get down to kid height. Open shifts: Saturday or Sunday, 1:30-5:15. Can be incorporated with both high school and college Studio Assistant internship positions.

Exhibits Assistant:

Flexible Shifts!
Lend a hand in the shop with a variety of projects including woodworking, painting and general construction to keep the Museum looking fresh and exciting all year round. Speak with Volunteer coordinator re if there are any present openings. Shifts to be determined between Exhibits Developer and volunteer. Shift must be 4 hours minimum weekly for six months. Resume required in addition to regular application process.
