Volunteers Play A Part!

Interested in having fun volunteering with and/or for children? Join the Museum Volunteer Program!

Volunteers play a critical part in delivering the Museum's mission: to inspire imagination, creativity and the wonder of learning in children and adults by inviting moments of shared discovery. At Portland Children's Museum volunteers play with children, ensure their safety, help to build and maintain exhibits, explore art with families, read stories, welcome people to the Museum, help in the offices, and offer their time and skills in many other ways. Most importantly, they have fun!

If you have time and interest, contact us to get involved! Individuals, service organizations and corporate groups are all invited to join the Volunteer Program.

What's In It For You?

  • Explore and learn with children while experiencing the educational importance of play first-hand.
  • Recognition of your service and contribution to the Museum.
  • Family invitations to special events throughout the year.
  • Letters of reference for those who are building a resume or receiving community service credit.
  • Membership to the Museum after 100 hours of service.
  • The Museum is just plain fun!
