Be a Volunteer or Intern at PCMVolunteer working helping children with a project

Portland Children’s Museum offers opportunities for youth and adults to volunteer or intern. Join the team and experience the museum that doesn’t act like a museum.

Wonder Academy Volunteers

Designed for youth in 8th grade through senior year, this program requires a minimum service commitment of 60 hours or six months. Program participants will receive training on business and customer service skills and learn to work with children.

Adult Volunteer Program

The Adult Program is for volunteers 18 years and older. Volunteers are asked to complete a minimum of 30 hours of volunteer service to the Museum per year.

Internships

An internship is a great way to develop skills and gain general work experience. Many of the Museum’s interns receive credit from their college or university: the Museum encourages interns to explore this option. Internships are not compensated and require a minimum 12-week time commitment. Needs and schedules vary by department.
