Fundamental to our mission of inspiring imagination, creativity and the wonder of learning, is a commitment to make the Museum accessible for all families. With support from Target Corporation, the Museum is thrilled to announce that admission is free from 5 – 8pm on the first Friday of each month so more families in our community can experience the power of play.
Catch a performance of “Talking with Animals” by Northwest Children’s Theater at 6pm and 7pm in Play It Again Theater

A dynamic and interactive story time designed especially for our youngest visitors. Museum educators weave their knowledge about young children and early literacy into a fun-filled, half-hour program filled with fingerplays, stories, and movement.
Move & Groove - 3:00pm

Our Tuesday afternoon dance off is a blast! We provide the music, costumes, shakers, and stage, you provide the wild and wacky dance moves.

Local musician and West Virginia native Johnny Keener performs an acoustic guitar sing-along of family favorites with lots of audience participation. His children’s music CD, called Elephants Over the Fence, is available for purchase at the Museum store.

The Garage is on the move during our weekly Junk Derby. Turn drawer pulls, bottle caps, match boxes and other recycled objects into a junk buggy and test it on our racetrack.
